Linda Beaulieu
Linda Beaulieu (Lindab2720@aol.com) has been a food writer since 1983, and she is the author of "Divine Providence: An Insider's Guide to the City's Best Restaurants" and "The Grapevine Guide to Rhode Island's Best Restaurants."
Her latest book -- The Providence and Rhode Island Cookbook -- was published in October 2005 by Globe Pequot Press and is already in its fourth printing.
Linda has written about food, chefs and restaurants for The Associated Press, Chef Magazine, East Side Monthly, Family Circle, Food Arts, National Culinary Review, Providence Journal, Providence Monthly, Rhode Island Gourmet Guide, Rhode Island Monthly, and Sizzle, as well as other publications and Internet culinary sites.
Linda received the prestigious James Beard Award for magazine writing in 1994 for an article on Native American food that appeared in the National Culinary Review.
In the past, she worked for 10 years as a publicist at Johnson & Wales University, where she also taught a course on food writing. While at Johnson & Wales, Linda produced the popular "Cooking with Class" TV show with Chef Frank Terranova, and she was the editor of the PBS companion cookbook, “Master Class at Johnson & Wales.”
Previously, Linda was an award-winning newspaper journalist. She is a graduate of Northeastern University, Boston, where she majored in journalism.
Linda now owns and operates Beyond Words, a small public relations firm that specializes in restaurants and chefs. She is the producer of “Costantino's Round Table,” a local PBS television show that explores the food and wine scene in Rhode Island.
A native Rhode Islander, Linda lives in Lincoln, Rhode Island, and has a summer home in Narragansett with her husband, Brian, and their cocker spaniel, Beau.
