Elaine (bigslabofbutter@gmail.com) has devoted her life to writing about food and teaching people to cook. She produced popular newspaper food sections as food editor of the Austin American Statesman, the Louisville Courier-Journal and the Sacramento Bee. She has written two books, Now You're Cooking for Company and Now You're Cooking. Her first book, Now You're Cooking, received both the International Association of Culinary Professionals' Julia Child Cookbook Award and the James Beard Foundation's James Beard Award for the Best General Cookbook of 1994.
