Sally, sally@sallybernstein.com, is the Chief Operating Officer of Media Holdings, LLC, an Internet company, and manager and Editor-in-Chief of Sally's Place (http://www.sallybernstein.com), the premier Internet site for food, beverage and travel enthusiasts. I also manage and co-host Sally's Place Internet Radio Network, the Internet radio station with programming on wine and food.

I am a charter member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, a former member of the Association's board of directors and past Chairperson of the IACP Information Technology Committee. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 I was a judge for the IACP Cookbook Awards. I am also a charter member and past-president of the Houston Culinary Guild and have served on the board of directors of the San Francisco Food Bank. I am a past board member of the San Francisco Professional Food Society and have been a member of both the San Francisco and Houston Chapters of Les Dames d'Escoffier and Women Chefs & Restaurateurs. I was associated with Share Our Strength (SOS) for seven years, and served as co-chair of the Houston and San Francisco "Taste of the Nation" events. I have been a speaker at The Symposium for Professional Food Writers at the Greenbrier and a Final Judge for the 2005 and 2006 Alternative Newsweekly Awards.

I studied at La Varenne, Le Pot au Feu and Cordon Bleu cooking schools in Paris, with Simone Beck in Provence as well as with Guiliano Bugialli in Florence, Italy. Parlaying my newfound culinary knowledge by teaching cooking classes in Houston for eight years, I soon found a new home at the Houston Post newspaper as a restaurant and food critic and lifestyle writer for another eight years. I edited the 1983 Zagat Houston Restaurant Survey and contributed to the 1985 Zagat US Hotel, Resort and Spa Survey. I have taught cooking classes at Ramekins Sonoma Valley Culinary School in Sonoma, Williams-Sonoma in San Francisco and Draeger's in San Mateo...all in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have also taught at Central Market in Houston, Texas and The Cook's Nook in Longview, Texas.

I've taught cooking on television and have been interviewed about Sally's Place by television (Food Network), radio, newspaper, magazine and Internet personalities around the world. My work has been published in magazines including Travel Savvy, Home, Redbook, Cook's, Continental Airlines and Houston Home and Garden. I received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas and studied sociology at the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research in New York City.
