Since its opening in 2000, this a gem of a restaurant on upper Market Street (not far from the performing arts complex) has received rave reviews from online user critics and professional food writers alike. Only a 10 minute ride from major downtown hotels via the “F” streetcar , visitors who step into Destino find a rich and warmly decorated restaurant frequented by a mixed crowd from all walks of life.
Small plates are satisfying enough to make a meal of or easy to share with favorites including a “sultry” Quinoa Casserole with Peruvian Artichoke Hearts, Romesco Salsa, Roasted Vegetables for vegetable lovers, Wild Panamanian Sea Bass with Grilled Bell Peppers and White Lima Bean Puree, House made Chicken Raviolis with a tangy Aji Amarillo Reduction and toasted walnuts among the favorites. The side dishes are particularly flavorful including not to be missed Yuca Chips and Papas a la Arequipeña - Sweet, Red, & Yukon Gold Potatoes with Feta Cheese in Serrano Oil; displaying the Peruvian pasion for creative tuber uses.
