Stroll the Boardwalk

The boardwalk in Atlantic City was originally built in 1870 to keep sand out of the resort hotels and shoreline trains. It is now 4 miles long and ever since it was first built has been the most famous and popular attraction. Another aspect of the boardwalk is the famous Entrance to the Stars, which is Atlantic City’s own version of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. It has handprints from stars such as Johnny Carson, Cher, Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra.

Lucy the Margate Elephant

Lucy is an iconic seaside attraction in Atlantic City, she is a 65-foot six-story-high wood and tin elephant built in the small coastal town of Margate in 1881. Lucy was first built to attract potential house buyers; however since then she has been a tavern, a summer home and an observation deck. She was rescued in the 1960’s and now is at home in Josephine Harron Park which has been listed on the National Park Registry of Historical Landmarks.

Atlantic City Aquarium

If you want something fun to do during the day in Atlantic City then head to the aquarium. It has many hands-on and interactive exhibits. The sea life includes see bass, sand tiger sharks as well as northern stingrays. This aquarium doesn’t just stop at sea life but has numerous species of reptiles on display too. The aquarium is a great place for children as they have tropical shark and stingray touch tanks that, of course, can be enjoyed by grownups too.

The Atlantic Club Casino Hotel

This hotel is situated on the boardwalk and has many luxurious additions including a health spa and indoor pool, perfect places to unwind. If you’re planning on hitting the casino the hotel offers packages to accommodate your needs as well as having all the classic table games and many different slots.

Bally’s

This Disney-esque frontier town is one of the most eye-catching hotels on the boardwalk. Bally’s Hotel and Casino may not look like much on the outside but it is incredibly underestimated as they have four guest towers. A complete renovation of the Ruby Rooms, in the 1930 Claridge Tower; is now complete.

Caesars Atlantic City

If you are heading to Atlantic City and want glitz and glamour then stay at Caesars. They have a restaurant complete with white tablecloths, set within a temple. The hotel is a re-creation of a Roman Piazza complete with a fountain presided over by a 30-foot statue of Emperor Augustus.
