Moose's contemporary American cuisine pleases the diverse crowd that frequents this spot. It's a hangout for movers and shakers, somewhat of a sports bar, a special occasion venue and a North Beach classic. There is also lots of people watching and things to see at Moose's. Diners can sit near the piano and enjoy the nightly piano music, dine at the bar which features soundless large t.v. screens playing the important sport of the day, the main dining room, near the windows overlooking Washington Square or in front of the display kitchen, where cooks bustle from grill to saute station. The menu includes pizzas, Caesar salad, crisp dungeness crabcake, grilled wild king salmon, grilled pork porterhouse and the Mooseburger is always available. Desserts are worth trying, so save room: look for a honey-baked tapioca pudding, lavender creme caramel, and Moose's cookies and sweet delights.Reservations recommended.
