Leena D. Saini

Leena D. Saini (leenasaini1975@gmail.com) currently serves as head chef for her husband and two little girls, Kirina, age 3 and Ela, 6 months.

Prior to motherhood she practiced law, specializing in civil defense litigation and government prosecution in upstate New York. The career, however, slowly munched away at her soul and she knew she needed to switch gears. After moving to New York City in 2005, she tapped into her inner foodie, exploring all sorts of restaurants, meals, and cultures, one bite at a time. Food became a passion.

After getting married and having Kirina, Leena discovered that her little one refused to eat bland foods. She tapped into her love of food and culture and started creating well-seasoned meals for her baby. It was a hit and prompted Leena to research and start writing about baby foods from around the world. Nearly 100 recipes later, a book was born. Tentatively titled Masala Baby: Global Cuisines for Tiny Taste Buds, the book features world recipes and ideas for incorporating herbs and spices into homemade baby food.

Raising an adventurous eater and making baby food taste better is a topic Leena is passionate about. She has finally found her life's calling. She hopes to enliven little taste buds one bite at a time.

While Leena navigates the publishing world, she writes and manages the blog, Masala Baby Food (www.masalababyfood.wordpress.com). She can also be found on Facebook (www.facebook.com/masalababyfood) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/masalababyfood).

She and her family live in New Jersey.
