Whole Foods Markets Nixes Plastic Bags Chain-Wide: As of Earth Day, April 22, the natural and organic grocer Whole Foods said it will end the use of disposable plastic grocery bags at all of its 270 stores in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The grocer will continue to offer recycled paper bags and encourages shoppers to bring their own bags by offering a refund. (Gourmet News)
