Since 1863 The Cliff House has been a SF landmark providing visitors with the city’s premier ocean view. A casual, light filled bistro provide a full range of family friendly dining pleasures for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, featuring Omelets, Sandwiches, Salads and typical San Francisco fare in a casual setting.
The ambiance is historic and today the Cliff House is preserved as part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. With a gorgeous tile floor and walls rimmed with photos of celebrities who have dined there, you can’t help but relax. While the menu includes plenty of inventive dishes to insure that the locals don’t get bored, San Francisco classics such Crispy Fried Calamari with Chili Aioli, Sautéed Jumbo Prawns with Olives, Greek Oregano, Lemon and Feta and Traditional San Francisco Cioppino.
The Bistro’s more upscale, sister restaurant Sutro’s at the Cliff House has inspired the newly remodeled spot to offer some adventurous fare such as an appetizer of Braised Black Mussels with Chorizo Sausage, Fresh Tomato Broth and Chipotle Aioli or a personal entrée favorite of Macadamia Nut Crusted Petrale Sole with Shallot-Mango Salsa.
