This historic restaurant (since 1908) was immortalized in Dashiell Hammet’s “Maltese Falcon.” Great food at honest prices in a traditional San Francisco atmosphere, this is not a foodie spot yet it packs in locals as well as visitors on a regular basis.  A favorite with celebrities whose photos line the dark oak paneled walls, the restaurant's interior is a tribute to old San Francisco-  providing a museum of authentic and quirky memorabilia. John's Grill has been featured in Esquire and Gourmet and has been named by Tim Zagat as a personal favorite.
