Fusion small plates come alive at this swanky and fun SoMa newcomer. Roe is a contemporary Burmese restaurant with Japanese and French influence populated by hip executives and in the know party throwers. The room has to be seen to be believed- kind of 70s disco grows up. Diners are surrounded by disc-shaped curtains and sheer fabric hanging from track lights against brick walls. Multicolored banquettes are comfortable with cushy throw pillows.
While the small plates and starters are the biggest draw, entrees include Oven Roasted Free Range Chicken with mango glaze & coconut rice, Toasted Fava Bean Crusted Ahi Tuna Steak, Colorado Lamb Chops with cherry tomato, and curry sauce, Grilled Rib Eye Steak with crispy sweet potato, royal trumpet mushroom, merlot reduction and Seasonal Vegetable Curry with coconut & black rice.
Upstairs via elevator is a dance room replete with shiny ball, club-style lighting, private nooks and a leopard print bar. A bar menu is offered that go well with the several specialty cocktails, including the yummy Passion mojito.
