I have been eating pre-symphony dinners are CaffÈ Delle Stelle for years, and always loved it. It was noisy and crowded, but the food and atmosphere made me feel like I was eating in a trattoria in Italy. Therefore I got nervous when I learned that CaffÈ Delle Stelle had moved to new larger quarters just up the street. I was afraid that the cozy authentic feeling would get lost in the move.
I am happy to report that CaffÈ Delle Stelle is doing just fine in the new location. The staff is still friendly, the place still feels like Italy, and the food is still just as good. I find it hard not to fill up on the delicious herb-dusted bread, drizzled with olive oil or served with a garlic/tomato dipping sauce. The pastas are exceptional, especially given the modest prices. There's a good selection of Italian wines at moderate prices.
Caffe Delle Stelle is popular at both lunch and dinner, so reservations are definitely recommended. And now they'll be just a little easier to get.
