Masa's serves some of the most innovative food in town. Instead of an · la carte menu, a four-course and a six-course tasting menu are offered. Look for chunks of rich foie gras sauteed to a crisp veneer with perfect vegetable morsels bathed in a truffle sauce with a hint of sweetness from Madeira. Lamb noisettes with green peppercorns in a velvety Zinfandel sauce is perfectly complemented by a rich Bordeaux. More than 20 vintages on the award winning wine list (including the exquisite Ch’teau d'Yquem) can be enjoyed by the glass, which facilitates matching the right wine to each course. The refurbished dining room now has a sleek elegance, with modern art on the red walls and Hutschereuther china and Christofle silver table settings. Though the service is smooth and efficient, it can also be a bit cold and impersonal.
