Special Feature: Products Sally Recommends

how can athletes keep themselves in shape in isolation/quarantine?

While some people said that they couldn’t bear self-isolation, others were trying to stock up as much as possible on products and help the world prevent the spread of the virus.

However, when it comes to athletes, they were probably thinking of how to keep themselves healthy and in shape while in self-isolation – especially now when the latter seems to turn into a complete lockdown.

As such, in today’s article, we’ll talk about how both athletes and people that want to exercise can keep themselves in shape – even if the gym is out of reach!

The Two Sides of Being in Shape

When it comes to being in shape, it’s not all about exercise – a healthy and nutritious diet is

also very important.

If you exercise all day without a proper diet, you’ll soon feel more tired than usual, not to mention that your body will also lack the vitamins and proteins that it needs to protect you against diseases.

On the other hand, you already know what happens to a proper diet without exercise. No matter how low-fat your food is, you’ll eventually add some pounds if you don’t exercise at all.

Exercise

Let’s take a short look at what types of exercise you can do to stay fit:

●  Planking – this particular exercise trains multiple muscle groups in your body, especially the core ones around your waist, not to mention arms and legs.

●  Farmer Carry – since you can’t use your travel suitcase for its main purpose, fill it with books and whatnot and do the farmer carry. This exercise relies on and also trains for proper posture.

●  Free Weights – weightlifting can be done with almost anything you have in your house. Therefore, you should lift weights and train your arm muscles if you feel like it.

● Basic Exercise – everyone in self-isolation should make up for the daily walk to work they now miss. Engage in basic exercise – warm-up – and don’t stay in bed all day!

Food

Now – here comes the essential part. Let’s take a look at the foods that will supply your body with the vitamins and minerals that will keep it healthy and in shape.

●  Fruits – many fruits contribute to the wellbeing of your immune system, such as lemons and pomegranates. However, don’t forget the common ones – green apples, oranges, and bananas are rich in vitamins and nutrients and are better than any other snack.

●  Vegetables – when it comes to veggies, you can eat almost anything as long as it’s not cooked with oil. Veggies are best in soups and salads – if you have to use oil, use olive oil because it is reportedly healthier than other varieties.

●  Meat – in terms of meat, you’ll want to eat the one that’s the richest in vitamins and nutrients. Naturally, we refer to the common chicken and beef – they last quite some time frozen, and they’re also easy to cook.

●  Grain/Cereals – whole grain bread should already be on your table. A good portion of the daily fibers that an athlete needs comes from cereals and grains – such as oat, rye, quinoa, and so on.

The Bottom Line

As mentioned, athletes are having a hard time right now. They have to properly exercise every single day and also respect a balanced diet with the stock of products they currently have in their home.

However, if you shop responsibly and focus on more types of food products, you’ll have enough veggies and grain for two weeks. Naturally, this is enough to keep yourself in shape. On top of that, you can also rely on special CBD for athletes as it can settle your gut, improve sleep quality, and favor weight loss.

In short, you have more than just a couple of ways to keep yourself in shape during self-isolation as an athlete – don’t forget to take care of both exercise and your diet!
