3 things you need to host the perfect football viewing party

Having your friends and family over to watch your favorite team play on Sunday can be the best way to enjoy football. However, with everyone coming over, you will need to provide the right food, drinks, and atmosphere for everyone to have a great time while watching the game. You can go traditional with burgers and dogs on the grill or try something a bit more adventurous with a spread of sliders, nachos, and homemade pretzels.

Whatever you decide to do, you will want to ensure that you are prepared with enough food, seating, and other essentials to go around. Here are three such essentials that you should have on hand to throw the perfect football viewing party.

1. A Grill

No matter what sort of spread you plan to provide for your guests, you will most certainly want to prepare something on the grill. There is just something about the flavor that you can achieve by cooking food on the grill that is directly associated with football. You can keep it fairly simple by grilling a bunch of burgers for everyone, or you might be able to throw some steaks on the grill for a smaller group of friends.

If you don’t yet have a grill, the start of football season is the perfect time to get one. You will get plenty of use out of your new grill throughout the season. There are many great grills to choose from that range in price and capability, and you will naturally have to decide between a propane vs natural gas grill, but once you have your grill, you will be hosting your friends for every football game this year.

2. Plenty of Snacks

Aside from the main food that you are going to serve your guests, you are also going to want to have a fair number of snacks on hand. Football games can last for hours, and you don’t want your guests to be hungry while they are enjoying the game. Some snacks are as easy to prepare as pouring a bag of chips in a bowl and setting out some dips, while others might take a bit of time and creativity. Just make sure that you have plenty to go around for the whole group.

3. Somewhere for Everyone to Sit

Throughout your viewing party, you are surely going to have a few people wandering about and socializing but remember that most people are coming to enjoy some food and watch the football game. This means that you need to be able to provide enough comfortable seating for everyone.

Even if your living room isn’t particularly large, there are still ways of creating space for everyone to sit. You might need to add some extra comfy pillows so that people can sit on the floor and make use of a few folding chairs, but ultimately you should be able to give everyone the space they need.
