the best dining options in las vegas for every budget

For the best part of a century, Las Vegas has been the world’s home of entertainment and casino gaming. The city rose out of the desert off the back of the gaming industry as casino owners looked to build bigger and better-integrated resorts.

Today, Las Vegas faces a lot of competition with cities like Atlantic City and Macau offering similar experiences. Additionally, online bookmakers and casinos have begun springing up across the United States, with sites like Oddschecker helping customers to find free bets from these bookmakers.

To ensure its relevance in this new age, Las Vegas has developed a diverse offering that goes beyond just casinos and sports betting. Visitors to the city can enjoy a wide array of entertainment, including world-class night clubs, chic restaurants, and A-list residencies of Christina Aguilera, Cher, and Penn & Teller. Vegas also crams in live sports, boutique shopping, white knuckle thrill rides, and great restaurants to make the place even more exciting.

And although Vegas is often seen as a city of high rollers, it actually caters to all guests, no matter what their budget, with hotels and restaurants to suit everyone. So if you’re planning a trip to Sin City, here are some of the best dining options.

Sterling Brunch

Vegas has plenty of places where you can enjoy all-you-can-eat for a set price. Sterling Brunch is one of these places, but it offers a much more upmarket experience. Forget unlimited fries and cheap carb-laden dishes. At Sterling Brunch you’ll get access to all you can eat caviar, lobster, and oysters.

It’s only open on Sunday and will set you back more than most buffets, but it’s been serving guests for more than 30 years, which is a testament to the quality and value for money.

You’ll be served champagne on arrival, and you can have as many refills as you want. Some dishes need to be ordered from the waiter, while others can be picked up from the buffet line. There’s also a dessert bar crammed with mouth-watering treats like banana bread pudding.

Sterling Brunch was voted “Best Brunch” by the Review Journal and one online review describes it as a “gastronomic extravaganza”.

If this sounds like something up your street, you’ll find it inside Bally’s Las Vegas Casino and Hotel, near Bally’s Steakhouse and BLT Steak.

Studio B Show Kitchen Buffet

If you’re on a budget but still want the all-you-can-eat experience, Studio B Show Kitchen Buffet inside The M Resort is a great option. Prices start from $17.99 per person, although you’ll pay more if you want access to the seafood buffet or breakfast.

Like with many buffets in the city, different prices are charged in the afternoon and the evening, but many visitors will head there just before the changeover to pay the lower price.

You’ll enjoy dishes like prime rib, rotisserie chicken, dim sum, whole-roasted stuffed pig, and award-winning pastries. There’s even a taco bar where you can choose your fillings, gelato that’s made fresh on-site, and free drinks.

Studio B is popular with the locals, and it’s a little off the beaten track but you'll enjoy it for sure.

Heart Attack Grill

A provocatively named cafe with an even more provocative marketing strategy, the Heart Attack Grill is located around 6 miles north of the Las Vegas Strip.

It boasts that it sells the “world’s most calorific burgers” with its 18-inches tall Octuple Bypass Burger containing 40 bacon strips, eight burger patties, and a lot of cheese. With almost 20,000 calories, there is enough energy in this burger to sustain an average woman for 10 days.

The Heart Attack Grill takes on a hospital theme, with waitresses dressed as nurses, and diners given hospital gowns to wear at the table. They also refer to food orders as “prescriptions”.

If that’s not wacky enough, on its online application form, staff are asked questions like which superhero would win in a fight; “was there room for Jack on the raft”, referring to one of the final Titanic scenes; and whether the “Lock (sic) Ness Monster” and Bigfoot are real.

Juan’s Flaming Fajitas and Cantina

If you're on a budget but still want quality, then look no further than Juan’s Flaming Fajitas and Cantina. As the name suggests, this restaurant serves a selection of Mexican dishes like enchiladas de mole, chile Rellenos, and fajitas.

With an average Yelp rating of 4.5 and 4.7 on Google, both with over 2,000 reviews, it’s no surprise that it’s popular among Las Vegas locals. It offers indoor and outdoor seating, a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

Being a local favourite, it’s not in the city centre, so you’ll need to find transport to get there. If you’ve hired a car, there’s plenty of parking right outside making it a convenient option.

Lotus of Siam

A short drive out of the city centre, Lotus of Siam is a popular Vegas dining option. It was described as the US’ “best Thai restaurant” by Gourmet Magazine and has become one of the top foodie spots in the city. It is a privately-owned restaurant located on East Sahara Avenue in an outdoor shopping park.

The Lotus of Siam menu focuses on dishes from the north of Thailand and offers a huge number of options, so you’ll be spoilt for choice. However, some great picks include garlic prawns that are deep-fried in their shells and “Khao Soi”, slices of crispy duck that are served with pickled vegetables, a curry sauce, and egg noodles.

After the success of their first restaurant, the owners are planning to open a second location at The Bend in south-west Las Vegas. It will join major brands, including Ikea, Freed’s Dessert Shop, and Carson Kitchen.

Las Vegas has a lot to offer, in terms of both gaming and entertainment. The diversity doesn’t end there though. Its selection of restaurants is unparalleled with many upmarket establishments and cheap eateries on every corner. There are even quirky places like the Heart Attack Grill, which would likely seem out of place if any other city, but not in Sin City.
