Tips to Travel to Inglewood Stadium for the Super Bowl LVI in February 2022

Traveling anywhere can become a costly affair, no matter where, why, or how you do it. But if you are looking at going to an event that’s once in a lifetime- okay, maybe more than once for some- then cue the Super Bowl LVI in February this year. And where is this Super Bowl taking place, you ask? Inglewood Stadium, or SoFi Stadium as it is known, in Inglewood, California.

Football is arguably the most popular sport in the US, and we can almost bet with certainty that most Americans will live their entire life only supporting one NFL team - go, Dallas Cowboys! But if the 2021 predictions were anything to go by, you are in for a treat in 2022, so you better make your way down to Inglewood in February! Stuck on how to travel there? We’ve got some cool tips you are going to love!

By air

Let’s get the most expensive things out of the way. Just note that if you are lucky, flying can sometimes (very rarely) be the most inexpensive way to travel; you must know how and when to book flights. Of course, the costs are all calculated on where you are traveling from and which airport you are flying to in California. LAX is the closest to Inglewood, being only 4 miles away, but this will more than likely be the most expensive option. Second, it’s Long Beach Airport at 21 miles away, which could work. Then there’s Hollywood Burbank Airport, John Wayne Airport, and Ontario International Airport at 30, 42, and 53 miles away, respectively. Now, the further away you are from the stadium, the more it will cost you to travel there via a cab or Uber.

Carpool with a group of friends

Probably the best one on the list as you have way more affordable options at your disposal. Firstly, you can carpool with friends, and each one of you contributes towards gas. Not only is this affordable, but it’s also safer, and you get to have way more fun as you are around and with your friends the entire time. Pro tip:if you are four people, two of you can take a turn to drive there and back home.

Public transportation

Sitting on a bus can be fun, heck, even relaxing at times. And cost-effective. Hop on and jump off the bus at your destination and have a worry-free time at Super Bowl LVI. Involve your friends for some extra company and dress up in your team’s sportswear. We’ve also looked at some of the routes you could take (depending on where you are), and they include:

  • From Kogi BBQ Truck, Venice, LA - 79 minutes
  • From Torrance, CA, Torrance - 66 minutes
  • From In-N-Out Burger, Palms, LA - 59 minutes
  • From Santa Monica Freeway, Mid-City, LA - 58 minutes
  • From Microsoft Theatre, Downtown, LA - 58 minutes
  • From Tito’s Tacos, Culver City - 57 minutes
  • From The NOVO by Microsoft, Downtown, LA - 55 minutes
  • From Harbor Freeway, Broadway-Manchester, LA - 35 minutes
  • From Virgin America, Westchester, LA - 35 minutes
  • From LAX, Westchester, LA - 27 minutes

Take a taxi or an Uber

If we were back in 1990, you would be taking a cab. But fast-forward to 2022, and you are now able to use a range of e-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft that will chauffeur you all around Inglewood. What’s great is that they are available on-demand and, depending on where you reside, can be the more affordable option as there is a ride-share option as well (when you share one Lyft/Uber with more than one person to split the costs).

Get in your car and drive

Nothing is more convenient than driving around in your car, being able to come and go as you please. A great tip would be to pull up to Inglewood Stadium a few hours before the Super Bowl kicks in to secure great parking and to enjoy some BBQ fun. Pro tip: If you are strapped for cash, you could ask a few friends who are also going to the game to drive with you and split the gas cost.

It’s great that Super Bowl LVI is hosted at Inglewood Stadium this year, and the halftime show promises to be nothing short of amazing as it includes legends only: Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dog, and Eminem.
